I saw the moon

I saw the moon and the moon sees me....where is that from?  I sat down to do school work at the computer, looked through the window and over the rooftops saw a slightly flattened, bright moon.    Mattie is my moon girl.   If I'm up, she's up too, but not happily.   The bright round light was calming.   It made me think of how the moon looks reflecting on the lake...the lake that is dry in B'wood.

So here we are  sliding into year three of college w/the girl.  She took herself this year.    Year 26 of little people teaching   begins with a slightly agitated mindset because "they" cut off the air in our building at 3:30 and teacher staff are  required to work until 3:50.   I pretend I can do hot..but truthfully the years of growing up with swamp coolers at home and no air in the Brownwood schools have long passed and I'm a full fledged whiner w/o air.

Mattie does do hot.   She is spending time under the deck, by choice.   Stevie does not do hot.   He sticks his head out...feels the blistering 104 hit the back door and goes back in and tries to hold it.   That's not working for him so much.   Walking with Mattie, who does have an expanding waistline,  is also difficult with our little black mess.   Pugs don't do heat.   Dogs w/o snouts can not cool themselves efficiently.   It's is a life or death issue for them.   Stevie does near death well.

Pug Daddy bought him a stroller for back to school.    Mattie gets more walking time and I have two new whirling fans I will use to suck all the electricity  I can out of the sockets in my room to give me cool.
Hello  school year 2011-2012.   So long summer......sigh....
