I last looked at Mattie's blog...on...Dec. 4. December was by far my least favorite of many not favorite moments in the year of 2009. Since I married a glass half full person I tend to go hog wild on glass half empty thinking and have done so this month. But; College girl made her way home, I had extra holiday sleeping, very adequate gym workouts and much doggie time. Mattie steals. Bart is Bart. Ollie has turned into a growling food maniac and he doesn't even want his food.
In Mattie's corner of the yard is a brick (she carried it over....bricks left over from when the car ran into our house during Holiday 03 or '04.) She has a blanket, assorted bones, a unstuffed armadillo and a toy duck that she can't yet destroy. The brick was the new item. Maybe she's building...also she stole my slippers and hid them in the ivy. Twice. I watched the second time and she couldn't turn it sideways to get it out the doggie door so she dropped it, went out the door and then stuck her head back in to pull the second shoe outside. I followed and found its mate in the ivy with the new one.
Mattie is bonding...and found a new friend in the NICE dog that lives next door....there are a few in that house (4 at last count) and some chickens...but I think they let her/him??? out alone so the two of them can play together along the fence.
Every day with Bartie is now a gift (I will be buying doggie depends today)
Ollie is experimenting with anger as a way to get attention
December has passed and the quiet of January will be good for us all.
